notes on dave eichhorn
Dave has been producing, directing and editing films since he was 20 years old. He has earned 3 Primetime Emmy awards for his work as a supervising sound editor and has written, produced and directed corporate videos, commercials, movie trailers and documentaries. In 2004, he received a Gold Record for his post-production work on a top-selling CD comedy soundtrack album.
He is currently directing and editing an untitled documentary about Chicago musician Luiz Ewerling; he is also preparing a documentary entitled "100 Questions", an enlightening and entertaining treatise on growing old in America, and he has a dramatic-comedy screenplay in the works that he hopes to direct in the not-too-distant future. "I feel deep down inside of me that I was born to create movies. You can't dispute things when they're in your gut. I was given the tremendous gift of being able to think and breathe in the language of film. When I'm shooting or editing a piece, I can feel the the gift just coming through me and into my hands. When I am crafting a scene, time just stops and any pain, physical or emotional, just...goes away. It's my element. Working on a film, I am the happiest that I can be".
